Southwest Power Pool runs the grid across 14 states in the central US, from the Dakotas down toward Texas. Like MISO it's a wind powerhouse. On windy days SPP has run on more than 90% wind for short stretches, among the highest instantaneous renewable shares of any large grid.
SPP is part of the Eastern Interconnection and operates an integrated energy and reserves market across its members.
