ABOUT

Make the grid legible.

Electricity is the largest machine ever built and almost nobody can see it. nrgmap turns public energy data into something you can actually look at: 109,882 major power plants across 218 countries, 9.13 TW of capacity, on one live map.

What this is

A reference, not a product pitch. The interactive map shows every plant in the registry. The site you are reading is its reference layer: a page per notable plant, per country grid, per fuel, plus plain-language explainers on how the power system works. All of it is built from openly licensed public datasets, documented source by source on the data & methodology page.

Who makes it

nrgmap is built and operated by NRGMAP LLC, an independent company. It is not affiliated with any utility, vendor or trading desk, and it does not sell anything. It exists because the energy transition is the story of the next thirty years and the raw data about it deserved a better front end. Questions, corrections, press: the contact form.
